National Cadet Corps

About NCC

National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the largest uniformed youth organization in India, functioning under the Ministry of Defence. Established in 1948, NCC aims to develop character, leadership, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and selfless service among students.

Motto : "Unity and Discipline"

Brief History

  • 1917 - University Corps (UC)
  • 1920 - University Training Corps (UTC)
  • 1942 - University Officers Training Corps (UOTC)
  • 1948 - National Cadet Corps (NCC) established
  • 1949 - Girls Wing introduced
  • 1950 - Air Wing formed
  • 1952 - Naval Wing formed

Objectives

  • Develop leadership qualities and discipline among youth.
  • Promote character, courage, comradeship and sportsmanship.
  • Create trained and motivated citizens for national service.
  • Inspire young people towards Armed Forces and nation building.
