Anti-Ragging Cell

Introduction

    The institution maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and is committed to providing a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment. The Anti-Ragging Cell has been constituted in accordance with UGC regulations to prevent, prohibit, and eliminate ragging in all its forms, ensuring the dignity, safety, and well-being of every student.

Objectives


  • Ensure a ragging-free campus environment.
  • Create awareness about the harmful effects of ragging.
  • Promote healthy and respectful student interactions.
  • Prevent ragging through monitoring and counseling.
  • Address complaints promptly and effectively.

Functions of the Anti-Ragging Cell


  • Conduct awareness programmes and orientation sessions.
  • Monitor student activities within the campus and hostels.
  • Receive and investigate complaints related to ragging.
  • Recommend disciplinary action against offenders.
  • Provide guidance and support to affected students.

Functions of the Anti-Ragging Cell


  • Verbal abuse, teasing, or humiliation.
  • Physical assault or harassment.
  • Forcing students to perform inappropriate acts.
  • Intimidation, bullying, or threatening behaviour.
  • Cyber ragging through social media or digital platforms.
  • Any act that affects the dignity and self-respect of a student.

Disciplinary Action


  • Suspension from classes.
  • Debarring from examinations.
  • Expulsion from the hostel.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Rustication or expulsion from the institution.
  • Legal action as per applicable laws.

Complaint Mechanism

Students who experience or witness ragging are encouraged to report the incident immediately. All complaints will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly.


  • Reporting directly to Anti-Ragging Cell members.
  • Submitting a written complaint to the Principal.
  • Using the online grievance or email facility.
  • Dropping complaints in the Anti-Ragging Complaint Box.
