The main objective of Biotechnology programme is to make the students to express their knowledge and skill in the different areas of Biotechnology and to promote innovation and research by the way of interfacing with various funding agencies, universities and other research institutions and to design current, relevant inputs to transform the students into employable and socially responsible citizens.
Eligibility of the course:
A candidate who has passed Higher Secondary Examination under Higher Secondary Board of Examination, Tamilnadu or as per norms set by the Government of Tamilnadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent therto by the syndicate subject to such conditions as may be prescribed thereto are permitted to appear and qualify for the B.Sc., Biotechnology degree examination of Periyar university after a course of study of three academic years.
Duration of the Course:
The course for the degree of Bachelor of Science - Biotechnology shall consist of three academic years divided into six semesters.
